My journey with Stephen Covey’s classic, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, began early in my career, and its impact has been profound. The timeless principles of effectiveness, leadership, and personal development Covey shares have served as guideposts in both my life and work. Later, as I developed iAbacus, my aim was to create a tool for self-evaluation and strategic planning that was as effective as it was simple. I didn’t initially realise how deeply Covey's principles would align with iAbacus, ultimately shaping it into a tool that empowers individuals and organisations on a journey of continuous improvement.
Often, we assume complex challenges need complex solutions. However, in evaluation and planning, the most effective tools are those that distil complexity into clear, intuitive processes. This was the core inspiration behind iAbacus: a visual, user-friendly platform where users could 'move beads on an abacus' as a metaphor for tracking measurable progress. iAbacus was designed to guide users through reflecting on their current performance, identifying areas for growth, and strategically planning actionable steps to achieve desired outcomes.
